Thanks very much for all the responses. I though when I started that I might have got a few dozen replies, but actually I've got more than 200!
The survey was running for over 3 years, although half the responses came in the first 6 months. I'm very grateful to everyone who responded, it couldn't have happened without you! Unfortunately a corruption in my Outlook Express database lost about 20 of the submissions, and so I'm sorry to those whose data wasn't included (remember: always keep backups!)
I will soon process the responses and try to make some analysis of the results, to see if they address the objectives that I set out when I started. Watch this space!
I think this was unique when I started, but there are now other chastity surveys on the net, including:
I have seen lots of cases of people advertising that they think a certain type of chastity device is perfect, and what they really mean is that it's perfect for them, or rather for their particular anatomy (body shape, measurements etc). On the other hand, there are people who've tried all sorts of devices without success.
This survey will attempt to find correlation between device types and the wearer's anatomy, and will hopefully end up with a chart so you can look up your anatomy and determine the ideal type of device. This process will probably also reveal that some characteristics aren't relevant, and will show which ones are most important.
Of course, any survey like this is only as good as its data. I'd like as many people as possible to e-mail me with their answers to the following questions, for as many devices as they have, or have tried.
I'm asking for lots of details and measurements, but hopefully most will be measurements you've already taken in order to order the belt (if you've not changed size!)
I'm just as interested in devices you've tried that didn't work out as I am for devices that work perfectly.
The questions are split between person-related ones and device-related ones, so if you have tried mulitple devices you need only give the person-related details once.
I'm mostly interested in purchased chastity devices, but I would be interested if you want to tell me about the experience of any devices you've made for yourself. If so, please let me know the URL of the device as listed on Altairboy's Home Built Chastity Devices. If it's not there, choose one that's closest to your design. The point of this survey is to collect together different people's experiences of the same devices, so the more 'identifiable' the device the better.
I am currently only interested in male devices, focusing on the aspects of male anatomy which may relate to the effectiveness of a chastity device. If the survey proves to be useful, I'll open it out to female (and unisex??) devices too.
I appreciate that some of the questions are of a rather personal nature - do not feel obliged to answer any you'd prefer not to answer, although of course I'd like as much data as possible.
I will not be publishing the whole data from this survey, only the conclusions. The data will remain confidential, to the best of my ability.
